• The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The paperback edition recently re-published, at only $6.38 from Amazon.
  
  
• A Yellow Raft in Blue Water, by Michael Dorris. In a trade paperback version, at 20% discount for $10.39.
  
  
• The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain. Take your pick of two discounted paperback versions: from Penguin Press with commentary by John D. Seelye for $4.76, or from New American Library at $3.96
  

Advanced Placement US History

• The Complete Book of U.S. Presidents by William DeGregorio and Connie Jo Dickerson. The 1997 edition, in hardcover, value-priced at $15.99.
  
  
• Review Text in American History by Irving Gordon. This one is out-of-print according to Amazon, but they can search for it in their network of bookstores. It's included in our list to help you find it, but you may want to look for it locally or elsewhere on the net.
  
  
• United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination by John Newman and John Schmalbach. This one isn't listed at Amazon at all, not even as "out-of-print". Here are some other AP U.S. History Exam Guides for you to consider if you either can't find this one locally or want to supplement it:
  
  The Best Test Preparation for the Advanced Placement Examination : United States History (Advanced Placement (AP) Test Series) written by G.W. Piggrem, S.W. Woodworth, Jerome McDuffie. Published 1997, with book and disk, discounted 20% to $23.96.
  
  How to Prepare for the Advanced Placement Examination: AP United States History by William O. Kellog. 5th Edition (1996), 20% discount only $11.16.
  
  AP United States History : Advanced Placement Examination (6th Ed) by John W. Crum. About to be published, so it's the newest in this list. Can be ordered already from Amazon for shipment when published, at 20% discount for $11.96.
  
  Cliffs Advanced Placement United States History Examination Preparation Guide - Preparation Guide from the Cliffs Notes people. Published 1997, discounted 20% to $8.76. Just because it's from Cliffs doesn't mean you should wait until the night before the exam to read it!
